After admiring the SEPF programming and scope for a number of years, it was my great pleasure to be part of the festivities in 2017, meeting distinguished colleagues, wonderfully motivated and talented students and enthusiastic audience members. In the beautiful setting of the Trinity Cathedral, it was hard for Debussy not to shine, and it was a handy victory, a 3 to 2 defeat of Prokofiev. As always the details tell more of the story - with the final round going handily to Prokofiev (Toccata) but not enough to sway the overall vote. And the 60+ age bracket dominated the attendance, and therefore the overall vote went their way - Debussy. See more below!
